Since the first days of December the journalists of public radio television ERT have been on strike. No news or other programmes related to political, cultural or athletic information are being transmitted. Some days they play a nonstop musical programme, some others they replay older programmes from the archives. Sometimes one can listen to regular programmes with music. The use of medium wave transmitters is also irregular as they relay other channels than the usual ones. So Filia on 666 kHz broadcasts The Voice of Greece, NET on 729 kHz is used by ERA-2 (Second Programme) and 981 kHz ERA-Sport transmits jazz and Latin music from Cosmos-FM. Some Athenian press media report that local authorities finance ERT relay stations in Kozani and Florina, in order to maintain service, buy valves etc. The administration of ERT does not support regional stations anymore.
